I’m Benjamin Dickerson; A Multi-Disciplinary Creative Professional

I am Benjamin DIckerson; a Multi-Disciplinary Creative Professional with an inspiring dedication to the mediums of film and video. I am an award winning Editor, Director and Producer living in Toronto, Canada; capable of offering decadent and articulate solutions in the fields of Production, Post-Production, Creative or Technical Direction and Consultation. I’ve worked within Toronto’s Creative Industry in several roles for the past ten years. In 2006, I graduated from the Ontario College of Art Design’s Integrated Media Program. My films have screened Internationally.

I have worked with just about every conceivable video or film format and distribution platform for the past 5 years. Before that I worked as a multimedia designer at a few of Toronto’s premier publications and agencies. For the last two years I was at Carbon Sound & Picture’s Pro Video Department in a Sales and Support Role. So that means I am exceptionally nerdy. I am big into social media and platform integration, I speak fluent Spatial Resolution, Compression and Data Rates for just about every video codec out there. My design background has led into a love affair with After Effects. I am perhaps most formidably an officially Apple Certified Level One Final Cut Pro user.

I have even spent some time teaching; most recently I taught a Video Course at Centennial College, in their Interactive Digital Media Program. Before that I was doing Final Cut Pro training for Carbon Computing and Trinity Square Video. I spent a semester at OCAD as a Teaching Assistant for two of my very favourite former Instructors John Coull and Michael Page, in their First Year Integrated Media classes. Integrated Media was also the program I graduated in from OCAD, it focuses on Time Based Sculpture/Installation, Kinetic Art, Performance, Video, Sound and Online Art, so I have a pretty hefty mixed bag of skills. Also, because I grew from a Creative background of traditional Art Practices, such as Drawing and Painting.
